“Pat did an amazing job performing our ceremony. It felt personalized and sincere. I would not change a single thing!”  (Review written on The Knot) Thank you for your kind words. It was a lot of fun to work with this couple because I had married Cassie’s sister, Jessica, three years ago. It’s always enjoyable when […]

I really enjoyed working with Melissa and Anan.  They are serious marathon and triathlete competitors.  Although they live in Chicago, they decided to have their wedding in Madison at UW Picnic Point.  It snowed the night before so the ground was white but it was also pretty cold for a sunrise ceremony. (The two pairs of […]

It was so special to marry Shannon and Neil yesterday at Gates of Heaven in Madison, WI.  They were the sweetest couple to work with.  The only people at the ceremony was the wedding couple, the photographer and videographer, their adorable dog Dexter, and me.  Even though it was an elopement, it was still a very […]

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
