Katie and Robert

Filed in Wedding — August 6, 2018

One of my favorite photographers to work with is Karly Jo Photography.  We did a wedding together in April for Katie and Robert at the Park Hotel and she completely knocked it out of the park with her photography.  I couldn’t have described this day any better than she did on her blog.

“What a amazing way to kick off the 2018 wedding season! Robert and Katie were the sweetest and their families were so filled with joy as these two said ‘i do’ in a classic downtown Madison ceremony at The Park Hotel.

I had so many favorite moments from the day. The weather was perfect and we were all glad there wasn’t any snow! The expression on Roberts face when he first saw Katie in her dress was priceless. Sometimes those first look moments really do steal the show. Katie & Robert made sure to fill the day with time to truly enjoy the company of their friends and family, I loved just hanging around downtown as they soaked up the day. Katie’s father maybe have stole the show that evening with his epic wedding ‘non-toast’ to the couple. Dad’s are the best!”

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
