Jake and Lauren

Filed in Review, Wedding — August 5, 2018

It was a complete delight to have the chance to work with and marry Jake and Lauren at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art last weekend.  This couple took our pre-marital workshop last spring.  They wanted their marriage to start off on the right footing so wanted to make sure they had the tools to do so.

Here is a line from a recent email they sent me right after their wedding day:
Thank you!! It was such a beautiful day and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and work with you.

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
