An Intimate Elopement to Remember

Filed in Wedding — October 6, 2024

We’re thrilled to share some mesmerizing photos by Derrick Parsons Weddings from Jamary and Demitrius’ intimate elopement at their charming Airbnb in Belleville. Their love story unfolded most beautifully while Jamary was on tour with a Broadway show in Madison, adding an extra touch of magic to their special day.

It was an absolute delight to work with Jamary and Demitrius—they’re truly one of our most cherished couples! Their bond, laughter, and love made their intimate elopement a truly unforgettable experience.

If you dream of a meaningful, personal celebration like theirs, explore our Elopement and Micro-Weddings at Koru Ceremony. We’d love to help you create a day that’s uniquely yours.

Micro-Wedding vs Elopement?

Micro-Wedding is a traditional wedding with a more intimate approach and a smaller guest list. Typically, it includes fewer than 50 people, often limited to immediate family and close friends. Whether it’s at a formal venue or your own backyard, a micro-wedding is a more personal affair, focusing on the couple and their closest friends and family, making it a more meaningful wedding day.

Elopement is a wedding ceremony that typically includes just the couple, the Officiant, and perhaps a few close friends or family members. It centers around the couple’s commitment to each other without the complexities and costs of a larger, traditional wedding.

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
