Sometimes the best weddings aren’t about the amount of money you spend, but the love shared between two individuals. Yesterday I officiated a wedding at Picnic Point for Meshel and Erik. There was only myself, their photographer Annie Sweers, their two best friends as the witnesses, and Meshel and Erik. And yet it may have […]

It was really wonderful to work with Cassie and Curtis. What a beautiful couple inside and out! And it was delightful to see how truly excited Curtis’ children were as they celebrated the joining together as a family. Thank you Cassie for writing such a nice review for me on Wedding Wire and The Knot: […]

Kelsey and Butch from The McCartney Photography shared these words on their blog.  I couldn’t have described this wedding any better: Allison & Doron chose to have a brunch wedding celebration in Milwaukee. Stepping into Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum feels like you’ve suddenly been transported to the loveliest place in a tiny Italian village, with architecture and charm in every […]

I officiated John and Claire’s wedding today at the Madison Public Library. What a great couple and a memorable wedding! (John’s dad is a famous music composer and he created the most beautiful original piece of music especially for John and Claire’s wedding that the Fox Valley String Quartet performed during the ceremony.) Looking forward […]

Thanks Red Wave Pictures for sharing these photos from Alice and Andrew’s wedding at Pres House.  A super nice couple to work with.  (And if anyone got sick or had an accident, we were covered because they were doctors.)

Wow! Thanks Andy Stenz Photography for these gorgeous shots from Mallory and Evan’s wedding at Legends at Bergamont. One of my favorite moments from this wedding was when the guests flew paper airplanes while the bride and groom recessed down the aisle. Magical!  Check out more images from this beautiful wedding on his blog. Here is the […]

Thank you Twig and Olive Photography for sharing these beautiful photos with me from Kelly and David’s wedding at Milford Hills Hunt Club.  Although their wedding was last summer, I remember the wedding well.  They invited me to stay for the reception, but I had to leave because my daughter was in labor. Here is a nice review […]

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
