As we are wrapping up wedding season, we have had some really wonderful reviews written for us lately. Here is the most recent one from Desiree and George, who were married at the First Lutheran Church in Middleton: “Pat was amazing to work with! She made the ceremony about us and made sure to include unique […]

“A friend referred us to Pat Werk of Koru Ceremony for our wedding, and as soon as we met her, we knew we wanted to work with her. Pat is wonderful; she’s warm and friendly, professional and incredibly well organized. She has over 10 years of experience and a wealth of resources that were invaluable […]

My husband and I had an incredible experience with Reverend Pat Werk from Koru Ceremony: Celebrating New Beginnings. Pat officiated our wedding on June 11th, 2016. We were originally planning on having a friend officiate, but after just our first meeting with Pat, we realized there was much more work involved in officiating than we […]

I watched Erin grow up so I was really honored when she asked me to officiate their ceremony. This was such heartwarming, family focused, joyful, and beautiful wedding with a folk art theme at Folklore […]

I love these photos by Kathleen Stogin Photography.  I couldn’t have agreed more with what Kathleen wrote because I really adored Mitchell and Kristen:   September 3, 2016. It doesn’t matter where you’re from. In the state of Wisconsin, everyone bleeds Badger red. A little known fact among many Bucky enthusiasts, however, is that the University of Wisconsin-Madison Union […]

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
