Valerie and Cody

Filed in Wedding — June 30, 2019

Saturday was a hot one! It was close to 90 and there was no shade for the guests at the top of the hill, but I love officiating wedding at the Bridle Barn and Gardens in Mt. Horeb. Also, Valerie and Cody were so positive and upbeat that I was reminded of what a fabulous and fun couple they are. It was an absolute joy to work with such an adorable bride and groom that is truly beautiful inside and out!

As a side note, just when you think you’ve experience just about everything at a wedding, right before the ceremony started the sole of my shoe came off. What do you do? Luckily TJ, from Uttke Photography and Design, had some black gaffer’s tape so I quickly taped up my shoe before the ceremony started. Although the wedding party knew, I don’t think any of the guests were any wiser? Thank you TJ and Shannon for saving me from being barefoot at the wedding.

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
